There are a lot of opinions about eating breakfast. Is it the most important meal of the day? Can we skip it? Are there advantages or disadvantages? This article is for people who want to improve what they eat for breakfast or make sure their children are getting the breakfast they need to grow.
There are benefits to eating a healthy breakfast in the morning.
If breakfast is the most important meal of the day for you, I have some 7 healthy breakfast food ideas that will optimize your day and give you the energy you need to make it through your hectic morning.
Some of you have the time to make the perfect breakfast while others are just happy to cram down anything as your running out if the door.
Just take a second to visualize your morning…
Mornings aren’t as hectic for me anymore only because my kids are older and they all wake up at different times. We are able to tackle one kid at a time but It wasn’t always like that.
I can remember absolute chaos!
Kids everywhere, running late, hubby trying to leave for work, one kid screaming (always), one kid having hair issues and the other refusing to brush his teeth. It was all I could do to get everyone out the door without me in tears.
THANK GOODNESS THOSE DAYS ARE OVER!
Needless to say, I was the queen of grab-and-go foods for breakfast. We are talking pop tarts, stopping at McDonald’s for a sausage biscuit, or grab a box of donuts for the kids to cram.
Then, it always happened. I would feel horrible and have major mom guilt because I knew my kids needed and deserved better. But no matter how much I planned to “do better tomorrow”, I still found myself stuck in survival mode.
Since then, I have learned how important it is for kids (and us) to eat the right foods so they get the nutrients they need to develop and grow. I wanted to share some tips and recipes that helped me and my family.
Here are a few easy and healthy breakfast ideas for your family.
Yogurt and Berries Parfait
Yogurt is a great option for a few reasons. Most yogurt contains probiotics which are really good for your gut health. Plus when you add in the berries, you get extra vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber.
To maximize your benefits, use greek yogurt and add chia seeds. Chia seeds are super nutritious and an excellent source of fiber, and high in antioxidants. They are also beneficial for your heart and may reduce the risk of heart disease.
This is super quick and easy with lots of benefits. Parfaits are also a great snack.
Coffee
Believe it or not, coffee can be considered a great addition to your morning. It’s high in caffeine. Caffeine improves mood, mental performance and increases your metabolic rate. Coffee also contains antioxidants which reduces inflammation.
Try this coffee recipe! It adds your collagen protein, antioxidants, good fat, caffeine, and more in one cup of coffee.

Eggs – Egg Muffins
Eggs are one of the most popular breakfast foods and for a great reason. Eggs are high in protein so you feel full longer. Three eggs contain 20 grams of protein.
Studies have shown that eating eggs at breakfast also helps maintain healthy blood sugar and insulin levels.
Egg yolks contain antioxidants help prevent cataracts and macular degeneration.
Eggs are very important for the brain and liver.

Fresh Juice
Juicing is an amazing way to get the much-needed vitamins, minerals, and fiber we need. Since our bodies don’t naturally produce these essential nutrients, we have to rely on what we eat to get them. Juicing is a great way to do this.
Juicing also helps you lose weight, removes toxins, cleanse your colon and is so easy.
If you are new to juicing or if you are interested in trying it, take a look at our Beginners Guide To Juicing. It tells you everything you need to know to get you started.
Protein Shake
A protein shake is a fast way to get your protein first thing in the morning. There are a variety of flavors, brands, and sources on the market.
Hemp protein is a good choice when it comes to trying to find the right protein powder.
It’s a complete plant protein. It contains all the essential amino acids, fiber, and fatty acids. This is rare for plant-based proteins. Its easier to digest, unlike other protein. It has a very organic and nutty flavor. Nutiva also comes in a variety of flavors.

Nutritional Shake
Soylent is a great grab and go nutritional shake. Lots of flavors and all of the daily nutrients you need in one shake. This was initially introduced to the tech community or students as a way of getting the nutrients they needed while sitting at ta desk working all day.
Soylent is great for anyone who doesn’t have the time to stop and eat a healthy meal. Instead of grabbing something you will regret, grab Soylent!
